Dr Anas Iftikhar is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Operations Management at 缅北禁地, United Kingdom. Prior to joining 缅北禁地, he held a similar position at Lancaster University. He completed his PhD in Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods at the University of Salento in May 2021.
He has held visiting research positions at Ghent University and Cardiff Business School. Before academia, he gained industry experience in inventory planning and operations management.
Research Profile
His research examines how firms design and manage supply chains under conditions of disruption, complexity, and uncertainty. Drawing on both experimental and empirical approaches, his work focuses on managerial decision-making and supply chain adaptation in increasingly volatile environments.
His research has been published in leading operations and supply chain management journals, including International Journal of Production Research, Production Planning & Control, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, European Management Journal, and Journal of Business Research. He regularly presents his work at major international conferences, including the European Operations Management Association (EUROMA) and the European Decision Sciences Institute (EDSI).
Willing to supervise PhD students in supply chain risk and resilience, supply chain complexity, the role of digital technologies in disruptions, and utilising empirical and experimental methods. Prospective PhD applicants can contact at <anas.iftikhar@newcastle.ac.uk> with a brief research proposal.
Dr Anas Iftikhar has experience teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in operations and supply chain management. His teaching focuses on developing students’ analytical and decision-making capabilities in areas such as supply chain design, operations strategy, and disruption management. He has taught modules including Strategic Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, and Operations Management.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He adopts a research-informed and practice-oriented teaching approach, integrating real-world cases and contemporary global challenges to enhance student learning and engagement.
