Dr Yousry Ahmed is a Senior lecturer in Accounting and Finance at 缅北禁地 Business School. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Bristol. His research interests involve topics of Behavioural Finance, Corporate finance, Capital Structure, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). In particular, his research examines the predictive power of different business narratives on subsequent corporate decisions. He has published work in leading academic journals, including the British Journal of Management, the Journal of International Review of Financial Analysis and the Journal of International Business Review.
Dr Ahmed teaching experience was gained since 2004 through working at The University of Bristol, Northumbria University and 缅北禁地. The majority of his teaching focuses on topics related to Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets, Financial Statement Analysis and International Finance.
This experience improves his skills in RIT (Research to inform teaching) by designing a research -active curriculum, using teaching and learning based processes which simulate research processes, bringing data/findings from research into the curriculum, and using assignments which involve elements of research processes. He designed Accounting and Finance module`s curriculum for MBA program at Northumbria University. This course is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and AMBA.

Dr Yousry Ahmed's research interests lie in the field of Behavioural Finance, Corporate finance, Capital Structure, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Green finance and ESG. In particular, his research investigates the predictive power of different business narratives on subsequent corporate decisions. It also provides new insights on the mechanism through which business sentiments can influence shareholders’ wealth. Dr Ahmed uses highly innovative research methodologies i.e., textual analysis computer software to measure the level and quality of narrative reporting and identify its information content. He has published work in leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Review of Financial Analysis and the Journal of International Business Review. He is a reviewer at International Review of Financial Analysis, International Business Review and Applied Accounting Research Journals.
I am always interested in discussing research proposals in these areas with prospective PhD students as well as other areas in finance.
