Background
I qualified as a dentist (BDS) from Mansoura University, Egypt, where I was subsequently appointed as a staff member in the Conservative Dentistry Department and completed my Master’s Degree (MClinDent) and specialist training in Endodontics. My passion for academia and Endodontics led me to pursue a PhD in Dental Science with a focus on Regenerative Dentistry at Yonsei University, South Korea, after securing a scholarship from the Korean Government.
Following completion of my doctoral studies, I continued my academic and clinical career as a Lecturer of Endodontics at Mansoura University, while practising precision dentistry as an associate specialist dentist in Egypt. I recently joined 缅北禁地 after completing my registration with the GDC, to further develop my academic and clinical experience in the wonderful city of 缅北禁地.
Qualifications
- PhD, Yonsei University
- Master of Clinical Dentistry, Mansoura University
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Mansoura University
Research interests
My research is focused on exploring pulpal biology, and Regenerative Endodontics.
My PhD
My PhD focused on investigating the interaction between the natural bioactive molecule Icariin and dental stem cells, with the aim of harnessing their regenerative potential to promote a more desirable tissue homeostasis. The overarching goal was to steer the healing process beyond conventional repair and toward true functional tissue regeneration. The findings were promising, offering novel insights into how, in theory, stem cells could one day reduce or even replace the need for synthetic dental materials by enabling teeth to rebuild using their own intrinsic capabilities.
In addition to this core work, I explored the application of dural substitutes used in brain surgeries as pulp‑capping materials, evaluating their potential to support biological healing and reducing calcification. I also investigated the use of 3D printing as an educational tool, helping students transition more effectively from preclinical bench‑top training to real‑world clinical practice
Funding
