As a research hydrologist, I focus on physically based catchment modelling, simulating river flows and groundwater levels. I specialise in applying physically based models at a national scale through the use of python wrappers, automated model optimisations, and emerging datasets. I have a particular interest in incorperating detailed 3D geology and accurate groundwater calibrations into our model to ensure that we can build simulations that accurately capture the right physical processes going on above and below ground in our catchments.

PYRAMID (Platform for dYnamic, hyper-resolution, near-real time flood Risk AssessMent Integrating repurposed and novel Data sources)

Specifically, coupling a physically based hydrological model to a high resolution hydraulic model for simulating real time flood risk.

OpenCLIM

National scale hydrological modelling of the impact of climate change and polulation changes on our rivers as well as potential mitigation through NFM changes.

Communicating Climate Change

A small project looking to increase the understanding of the impact of climate change on our rivers byt targetting MPs with hydrological information specificaly for their constituencies.

MACC Hub (Maximising Adaptation to Climate Change)

Increasing the impact of existing climate/hydrological knowledge.

I assist with teaching physically based modelling, hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, and GIS at MSc level.
