Background

Having an educational background in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Cristian has further specialised in manufacturing processes, transport technologies, railway engineering, and composites. His professional experience consists of stages both in industry and academia, including design, research and teaching activities.

He is currently coordinating a team specialising in transport technologies within the Future Mobility Research Group, with the aim of increasing its research capabilities and enlarging its area of expertise. 

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, 2000

• MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Freight rolling stock (benchmarking, novel technical solutions, testing, etc.)
  • Inspection and maintenance of railway infrastructure and rolling stock
  • Testing of railway technology (infrastructure and rolling stock)
  • Analysis and assessment of transport research results and market uptake
  • Transport research strategies and policies.
