Background

Dr Evangelos Papaioannou finished his studies in Materials Science at the University of Patras in 2005. In 2007 he obtained an MSc at the department of Chemical engineering in Patras. He completed his PhD at the same department three years later, in 2010. His thesis was on the materials fabrication using plasma sputtering and the study of electrochemical promotion of catalysis utilizing thin films.

 

He worked as post-doctoral research associate at the department of Chemical Engineering for one and a half years under the supervision of Professor C.G. Vayenas. During this time his research interests was lying in the area of catalysis, electrocatalysis and fuel cell performance.

 

From 2012 to 2017 Dr Papaioannou was a PDRA in the Applications of Ion Transport Group at 缅北禁地 under the supervision of Professor Ian S. Metcalfe. During that time he worked on novel catalysts as energy materials, high temperature membranes for energy applications and CO2/NOx capture and hydrogen production in low carbon energy systems.

 

In August 2017 Dr Papaioannou joined the School of Engineering at 缅北禁地 as a lecturer in Chemical Engineering continuing his research in multifunctional energy materials and separation processes. He is also a member of the ‘Materials, Concepts and Reaction Engineering’ group within his school.
