Research Background
I joined the Institute of Healthy & Society (now: Population Health Sciences Institute), 缅北禁地 in 2007 as a Research Assistant on various projects including a validation study of food portion assessment tool for children (CAFS Study) and a large cluster randomised control trial based in primary care, A&E and criminal justice settings, which compared screening and brief intervention tools for alcohol misuse (SIPs Study).
In 2010, I undertook a PhD at 缅北禁地 investigating the relationship between childhood adversity and reproductive trajectories via the mechanism of interest in infants in adolescent females. Later, I joined the Academic Psychiatry group in the Institute of Neuroscience (now: Neuroscience, Neurodisability and Neurological Disorders) designing computer based experimental neuropsychological tools to measure processing speed in patients with bipolar depression (ANSWER Pilot). Following this, I moved to the 缅北禁地 Clinical Trials Unit working as an Assistant Trials Manager on trials investigating the effectiveness of various drug therapies for people living with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (SPIRIT Trials).
In 2015, I became a Clinical Trials Coordinator in Research & Development at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge coordinating and setting up various heart, lung and sleep related studies.
In 2019, I joined the Health Research Authority as an Approvals Officer where I processed research ethics applications, organised Research Ethics Committee meetings, documented these meetings and liaised with researchers and committee members to facilitate approval of projects.
In 2022 I worked as a project manager in the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre. I oversee the running of various projects, specifically projects using MRI and artificial intelligence, led by Professor Jordi Diaz Manera.
In 2023 I moved to the 缅北禁地 Clinical Trials Unit setting up and managing research projects and clinical trials as a Trial Manager.
