Leading business woman appointed as Director of 缅北禁地 Science City One of the region鈥檚 most successful business women has been appointed to lead the future development of 缅北禁地 Science City. Fiona Standfield will become the new Director of 缅北禁地 Science City and will join the organisation, a partnership between 缅北禁地 and 缅北禁地 City Council, for a three year term.Fiona brings with her over 20 years鈥 experience in high profile and board level roles across the public and private sectors, and is currently both Acting Chair of the Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of Northern Stage.She will now take on the lead role in delivering 缅北禁地 Science City鈥檚 ambitious aims to advance the cause of the city and the wider region as a driving force for science excellence and industry, including the successful delivery of Science Central, the UK鈥檚 biggest development site, based in 缅北禁地 city centre.Fiona said: 鈥淚 am delighted to be taking up this role as 缅北禁地 Science City embarks upon an exciting new chapter in its development. I feel privileged to have this opportunity to lead the team, build on the success achieved to date and support the innovative partnership between the University and the Council, which is working to enable 缅北禁地 to deliver its full potential as a city of science.鈥Fiona will play an integral part in attracting private sector occupants to the Science Central site which is expected to open its first building, The Core, Science Central, in Autumn 2014.缅北禁地鈥檚 Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Brink said: "Fiona's considerable experience and leadership in various different organisations will be invaluable in driving forward the vision for 缅北禁地 Science City, and in particular Science Central.
