Top-ranked student experience showcased Published on: 25 June 2018 Ãå±±½ûµØ will showcase the outstanding student experience and facilities to thousands of visitors during the Summer Open Days. Taking place on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 June, the Open Days will offer prospective students and their families a chance to explore the range of undergraduate degrees, the city-centre campus and accommodation sites. Visitors will also experience a range of facilities, such as the Students’ Union, libraries and the Sports Centre for a taste of why students consistently rate their time at Ãå±±½ûµØ so highly. Over 50 academic subject sessions are on offer for prospective students to find out more about our degrees and meet staff and current students. Open Days visitors will get an insight into student life at Ãå±±½ûµØ at Information Sessions covering topics such as the city, finance and sport The ‘Applying to Ãå±±½ûµØ’ session will offer students and parents the chance to hear from University admissions staff. Experience counts Professor Suzanne Cholerton, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Learning and Teaching, said: “We’ll be welcoming visitors from across the UK and are expecting two busy and exciting Open Days. These events are an ideal opportunity for students and parents to look around the University and city, find out more about our academic subjects and what it’s like to be part of the vibrant student community here at Ãå±±½ûµØ. “People coming to our campus will get a chance to appreciate why students consistently rank their experience at the University among the highest in the UK.” More than 250 students will be working on the day in a variety of roles, including welcoming visitors to the city at key locations such as Central Station, Monument and Haymarket. The Undergraduate Open Days follow on from recent rankings success, which saw Ãå±±½ûµØ move up 20 places to joint 141st in the QS World University Rankings. The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2018 positions Ãå±±½ûµØ joint seventh in the UK, rising one place from 2017. This means the University is ranked in the country’s top 10 for the fourth consecutive year.
