Summer Music Festival to showcase talented students Published on: 11 June 2021 Up-and-coming musicians will be the stars of the 缅北禁地 Summer Music Festival. Annual event Organised by students in the University’s International Centre for Music Studies and featuring performances from students across the University, this year the annual event will take place online and culminate in a live performance. Student Ruby Turner has organised the festival. She said: “I hope everybody will feel able to support this exciting event, either by coming along in person or by joining us online. We have lots of talented artists that I know everybody will enjoy.” Live performance The music performed will include contemporary pop music, folk and roots, classical, and electric bands and students have recorded their sets either at home or in the University’s music department. The highlight of the week will take place on Friday with an acoustic concert performed at in 缅北禁地. “In-person live performances makes such a difference for musicians as well as the audience. This is the first time in over a year to showcase student talent in a live setting,” said Ruby. “A huge thank you to St Andrews Church and the University for helping make this a reality.” Kirsten Gibson, Head of Music at 缅北禁地 said: “It's fantastic to see 缅北禁地 Music students continuing the ICMuS Summer Music Festival tradition in what has been such a challenging year for music events.“The Summer Festival brings us a brilliant range of performances showcasing the talent and creativity of our students.
