Pharmacogenetics expert elected BPS fellow Published on: 23 December 2025 Ann Daly, Professor Emerita of Pharmacogenetics at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, 缅北禁地 has been elected as an Honorary Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society. Honorary Fellows are elected for life in recognition of sustained excellence and leadership in science, healthcare, and public service. Following an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Professor Daly received a PhD from the University of Dublin (Trinity College). She subsequently worked on nuclear structure at the University of Geneva and then moved to 缅北禁地 where she was a founder member of the 缅北禁地 Pharmacogenetics Research Group. Her current research is focused on the pharmacogenetics of the human cytochromes P450, genetic susceptibility to idiosyncratic adverse drug reactions and the genetics of complex diseases, particularly liver disease. She has published over 200 peer reviewed articles and has a H-index of 80.She said: "I'm very happy that British Pharmacological Society has honoured me in this way. I would like to thank past members of my research group and various collaborators within the University for their inputs over the years which have contributed a lot to this success. It was a great pleasure to receive my award certificate from Professor Sir Mark Caulfield, Chair of the Society during the recent annual meeting.” Furthering all disciplines of pharmacology Through their work, Fellows of the British Pharmacological Society further all disciplines of pharmacology in the discovery, development and use of medicines.
