Background

Matt is a Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) Manager in the Faculty of Science, Agriculture & Engineering (SAgE).


Experience:


With a Masters in Mathematics & Statistics, Matt has worked on the interface of industry & academia for 25 years within a diverse range of sectors including manufacturing, service, government and healthcare finding innovative solutions to practical problems. He is highly experienced in engagement activities including events, workshops, webinars, consulting, skills, student placement and applied research projects. 


Role and Responsibilities:


Matt manages Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) activity in 缅北禁地's Faculty of Science, Agriculture & Engineering (SAgE), within the strategic priority areas of Data & Digital Technologies, Sustainability & Electrification.


The role involves:


- facilitating interactions between industry & academia and within the faculty

- focus on data science, mathematics, statistics, computing, physics & space

- organising hybrid events & workshops to accelerate industry-academic projects

- developing and delivering statistical data science skills programmes


Qualifications:


CStat, 2014, Royal Statistical Society (RSS)

Masters in Mathematics & Statistics. 1999 (缅北禁地)


Social interests:


Holidays, gym, watching football & cricket, playing golf, reading, playing the piano, drinking beer & red wine.
