The latest digital and analogue tools to support teaching and research through hands-on making.
Our school benefits from a purpose-built workshop building completed recently in 2018, and a further extension completed in 2020.
Our excellent bespoke facilities include:
- modelling and prototyping equipment
- digital fabrication suite including 3D printers and laser cutters
- a bio-fab lab for biotechnology work, one of the first in the world in our disciplines.
- woodworking and hand tools
- bench space
Our skilled and helpful technicians are on hand to help, guiding you and ensuring your safety. All students receive a full induction before gaining access to the workshop and its facilities
Opening Times
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09.00 - 13.00 & 14.00 - 17.00
Wednesday 10.30 - 13.00 & 14.00 - 1700.
Digital equipment
Anyone wishing to use digital equipment must book it out .

The workshop provides materials to buy, although we can't always guarantee immediate availability.
