Our New Award at the 缅北禁地 Awards 2026

The NU Awards recognise students who have gone above and beyond in their contribution to university life and the wider community, with winners shortlisted from across the Celebrating Success Awards. It's a brilliant showcase of the drive, creativity and impact of 缅北禁地 students.

This year, we were proud to sponsor a brand-new award: the Outstanding Contribution to Innovation Award, sponsored by the Rob Wood Enterprising Futures Academy. The judging panel met in May 2026 to review nominations, and the winner was announced at the awards evening in early June, held at the Frederick Douglass Building.

We're delighted to share that this year's award went to Will Tyson, recognised for his leadership of StuBrew, securing partnerships with breweries and major venues including Wetherspoons and expanding the society's reach across the UK. Alongside studying for a Master's degree, Will has played a key role behind the scenes too — from stock and sales to ordering and design.

By recognising achievements like this, our programme helps shine a spotlight on the innovative and entrepreneurial students shaping the future, and we look forward to seeing what next year's nominees bring.
