Anu Kaura is a barrister at Trinity Chambers, specialising in employment, immigration and commercial law. A senior employment law specialist with over 22 years' experience across private practice, in-house leadership and consultancy, she combines litigation-ready advocacy with commercially focused advice and brings board-level experience to her role as a Council member.
Anu's current practice encompasses Employment Tribunal and County Court litigation, complex workplace disputes, and strategic HR advisory work for employer clients. She advises on liability, evidential strategy, settlement positioning and corporate governance, and also acts in immigration appeals, commercial and property disputes. Alongside her work at the Bar, Anu is a consultant lawyer with Sandilands Legal, advising employer clients on grievances, disciplinaries, whistleblowing, redundancy processes and collective consultation, and previously held post as a part-time law lecturer at Leeds Beckett University, delivering the LPC Advocacy Module and Employment Law Elective.
Before returning to the Bar, Anu spent seven years as Head of Legal at Malhotra Group PLC, where she was a board-level legal adviser across employment, commercial, governance and regulatory matters. She led the company's employment law strategy, including restructures, redundancies and complex HR matters. She also managed the corporate governance and compliance framework, oversaw property portfolio transactions, and delivered organisation-wide training.
Anu's earlier career included senior employment solicitor roles at Collingwood Legal and Thompsons Solicitors, immigration law at Browell Smith & Co, and freelance legal consultancy.
Anu also held the position of Chair of the Law Society In-House Division (2023–2024, Vice Chair 2019–2023) and a judge of the Northern Law Awards (2023–2026). She was named to the Northern Power Women List in 2021 and the Northern Asian Power List in 2022. She holds Higher Rights of Audience and qualified through both the Bar Vocational Course and the QLTT at Northumbria University.
As a Council member, Anu contributes independent judgement, legal insight and a commitment to good governance, accountability and inclusive organisational leadership.
