Our research
The Constitutionalism and Governance group interrogates the:
- constitutional foundations of states
- EU and international organisations
- ways in which modern democracies are governed
We also explore the relationship between individuals and the state.
We particularly look at this in the context of human rights law.
The group is convened by Dr Francesco De Cecco and Bernardo Carvalho De Mello

- the impact of Brexit on the UK鈥檚 constitution, Northern Ireland and the protection of human rights
- constitutionalism in the global legal order
- historical studies of the UK constitution and the role of criminal juries
