Dr Emma Scott

Prostate Cancer UK Research Fellow

Background

I am a research fellow based in the 缅北禁地 Centre for Cancer. In my group we study the prostate tumour immune microenvironment. We focus on how glycans regulate the tumour immune microenvironment to drive immune suppression in prostate cancer. We are working to develop new therapies to target Siglec signalling and to understand how this will fit with current standard-of-care therapies.

Research

In our group we ask three key questions:


1) What are the regulators of tumour glyco-immunology?


2) How does glycosylation alter tumour immunology?


3) Can we target this axis to overcome immunotherapy resistance?


We address these questions through several key projects:


1) Understanding how AR-signalling alters glyco-immunology


2) Targeting Siglec immunoreceptors to modulate myeloid cell phenotypes in prostate cancer


3) Identifying regulators of macrophage glyco-immune checkpopints


4) Evaluating the contribution of stromal sialylation to prostate tumour immune suppression


5) Understanding how the liver microenvironment drives therapy resistance in metastatic prostate cancer
