I am a clinical psychologist by background and have a strong interest in research that improves the quality, experience, and effectiveness of care and support delivered in health and social care settings. In my clinical roles I have worked with a range of groups, including older people and people with learning disabilities, and have a special clinical interest in behaviours that challenge. Through my clinical experiences I have enjoyed opportunities to be involved in research, most recently a small-scale evaluation of a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) pathway for children with learning disabilities and their families.

I am currently working on PriDem, which aims to improve post diagnostic support following a diagnosis of dementia, which is being led by Professor Louise Robinson. I am involved in using qualitative methods to gather stakeholder views on existing services, which will inform the development of a new, prototype model of post-diagnostic support for people with dementia and their families.
