Background

I am currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer (NIHR) and Paediatric Registrar in Immunology and Infectious Diseases. I completed a post-doctoral Academic Clinical Fellowship in 缅北禁地 following an integrated MB PhD and foundation training in London. My thesis examined an inducible model of ZAP70 deficiency focussing on the role of T cell receptor signalling in T cell homeostasis. Work during my Academic Clinical Fellowship involved the characterisation of a novel inborn error of the immune system caused by NUDCD3 deficiency, a chaperone protein with no previously known role in the immune system. I have recently been awarded a Starter Grant for Clinical Lecturers to study how immuno and thymoproteasome dysfunction through naturally occuring variants in PSMB10 causes impaired T cell function and development.

Research

My research focuses on developing a detailed molecular and cellular understanding of known and novel pathways that regulate T cell homeostasis specifically by investigating children who have impaired T cell development or function.
