Research

Research Interests are twofold:


Clinical research in oesophagogastric cancer. Particularly "prehabilitation", survivorship and prognostication.


Educational Research: MD thesis was by publication entitlted "Exploring surgical and clinical skills learning in postgraduates and undergraduates".  My interest is both qualitative and quantitative research in improving technical (non technical) skills learning, particularly with the use of feedback, simulation and assessment..

Teaching

Undergraduate lead for surgical placements.

I am involved mainly in teaching in clinical years, particularly Foundation of Clinical Practice and Hospital Based Practice. In addition educational supverisor to both 3rd and 5th year students and have regular SSC and elective students undertaking placement at the Northern Oesophagogastric Unit, RVI.
