The programme leads to the award of a BSc (Honours) Sport and Exercise degree from 缅北禁地, UK, ensuring graduates are recognised by a globally respected UK university.

The curriculum is delivered in two parts:
- Part I – two academic years delivered in Malaysia. It follows the academic standards and quality assurance framework of 缅北禁地, ensuring consistent academic quality and assessment standards.
- Part II – one academic year at the 缅北禁地 UK campus with research-led teaching and an intensive research project with industry partners and applied practitioners. Students will have opportunities to work with athletes from 缅北禁地 Falcons and 缅北禁地 Eagles, performance athletes across 缅北禁地's teams, in the community with 缅北禁地 United and in the University wellbeing hub. This allows the students to gain the practical experience of working in sport and exercise science related careers.
Programme structure
The first two years of the programme (Stage 1 and Stage 2) will be taught at NUMed Malaysia and the third year (Stage 3) of the programme will be taught at 缅北禁地 UK.
In order for you to progress to the third year of the programme in the UK, you must have successfully completed the first two years of the programme in Malaysia and have obtained the relevant visa for you to enter the UK.
Although 缅北禁地 and NUMed Malaysia will make every effort to assist you with your application to obtain a visa to enter the UK, this cannot be guaranteed. You are advised to read carefully the UK government .
Stage 1 and 2 - NUMed Malaysia
Your first year provides you with foundation knowledge and skills in the key discipline areas of sport and exercise science. You'll study a range of topics spanning physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, psychology, bioenergetics and the principles of exercise, nutrition and health.

Your second year will build on the knowledge and skills obtained in your first year. You will develop your understanding of the application of sport and exercise science to human performance, exercise behaviours and health.
You will study applied biomechanics, sports psychology, sports nutrition, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning and research methods.

Stage 3 – 缅北禁地 UK
You'll further develop your knowledge and skills through a multidisciplinary approach to sport and exercise science. You will study modules in lifestyle and disease, elite performance, as well as sport and exercise medicine.
There’s also a careers module to help develop your professional skills by working with clients in a wide range of sport and exercise roles.
A research project allows you to study a sport and exercise topic in detail, under the supervision of our expert research staff.

Year in the UK
Your third year of Sport and Exercise Science will be carried out at 缅北禁地 in the North-East of the UK. Get career ready with a work placement and leave as a confident professional in your field. You can apply for work placement during your summer break time and receive University support from our dedicated team. Work placements take place between stages 2 and 3.

Entry requirements
Students who have completed SPM, O-Level or equivalent programmes must first complete a recognised pre-university qualification as a basic requirement for entry to an undergraduate degree at NUMed Malaysia.
Whatever pre-university qualifications you offer, they should include the science subjects of Biology and Chemistry and one other subject at a level equivalent to A-Levels, International Baccalaureate Diploma or STPM.
A UCAT result is currently not required for entry to NUMed Malaysia. The entrance requirements below apply to 2026 entry.
International Baccalaureate Diploma
A minimum of 30 points with Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject* at Higher Level Grade 4 and above. IB overall points include the additional points available for the Theory of Knowledge/Extended Essay.
* We regard Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology as acceptable Science subjects.
Australian Certificate Year 12 / Monash University Foundation Year
Australian Matriculation or Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) with average of 70% including the required science subjects.
Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) score of 70 including the required science subjects.
We accept other qualifications from Australia including University of New South Wales (UNSW) Foundation, Western Australia Curriculum Council, Higher School Certificate (HSC) Sydney Australian, Trinity College Foundation Studies, Australian University Foundation Programme, South Australia Matriculation (SAM) and Victoria Certificate of Education Australia Year 12.
National Certificate of Education Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 / New Zealand Bursary
A minimum of 80 credits, including two Level 3 subject endorsed with Merit and one Level 3 subjects endorsed with Achieved, which is equivalent to BBC at A-level. The subjects must include all required science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and one other subject.

Fees and funding
The overall tuition costs of obtaining the 缅北禁地 BSc (Honours) in Biomedical Sciences on the joint 2+1 programme with NUMed Malaysia is around 40% less than the cost of studying for the same degree for three years in the UK.
A single inclusive fee is charged to cover the costs of tuition, library, laboratory, placements, examination, administration fees and all other academic-related charges. There are no hidden extra costs.

For NUMed students, this tax will come into effect starting 1 September 2025.
