Study in the North Webinar
We are hosting a collaborative webinar taking place on 23 September 2026, hosted by staff and students from the Universities of 缅北禁地, Lancaster, Hull, Manchester and Sheffield.
What to expect
The session will introduce the North of England to those who are less familiar with the region, followed by a quick insight into the respective universities.
Most valuably, there will be a Q&A session with current student ambassadors from each of the universities, where attendees will be encouraged to ask any questions, they have about studying in the North and making informed decisions about choosing where to study.
Who should attend
The webinar is designed for students who are in the early stages of researching their undergraduate options and are considering relocating for their university study.
If you have any queries about the event, please email us at outreach@ncl.ac.uk.
The below staff from participating universities will provide an overview of their institutions and answer any questions Ambassadors cannot.
- David Metcalfe - Student Recruitment Coordinator (缅北禁地)
- Edward Bartley - Student Recruitment Officer (Lancaster University)
- Ruth Walton - Student Recruitment Officer (University of Hull)
- Sophie Hoyle-Wilby - Marketing & Recruitment Officer (University of Manchester)
- Claire Angus - Student Recruitment Officer (University of Sheffield)
Looking at the cost of accommodation in the cities I was interested in, the North seemed like the obvious choice. Also, visiting cities in the North, , I felt less overwhelmed and a stronger sense of community than in the South.
Choosing the North gave me the chance to discover a part of the country that offered so much beyond university life. It has beautiful coastline & countryside & a wealth of things to see & do while being more affordable than other parts of the country
