THE Impact

缅北禁地 was ranked was ranked in the top 200 in the world out of 2,318 institutions in the .

The rankings assessed universities across the world on action taken towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Universities are assessed on operations, research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

缅北禁地 has an SDG Committee which steers action at the University, and the Global Challenges Academy brings together research that supports the SDGs.

Green Gowns

缅北禁地 had two climate action initiatives celebrated at the 2021 Green Gown Awards.

2030 Climate Action: 缅北禁地's Climate Action Plan

The University was recognised as Highly Commended in the 2030 Climate Action category.

Our Climate Action Plan sets out our plans for net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, along with ambitious targets for indirect emissions.

Benefitting Society: Climate Change Catastrophe!

缅北禁地, in partnership with Cap-a-Pie theatre company, won the Green Gown for Benefitting Society with the show Climate Change Catastrophe!

The series explains the emergency situation of the climate crisis, made by kids, for grown ups.

Green Gowns 2018: Urban Sciences Building Living Lab

The Urban Sciences Building (USB), housing the School of Computing and the National Centre for Energy Systems Integration, is a building-as-a-lab (BaaL) or 'Living Lab'.

It utilises renewable energy and over 4000 digital sensors, the data from which is used in the Urban Observatory for research use.

The USB won a Green Gown Award for 'Campus of the Future' in 2018 for its exemplary low carbon and 'Living Lab' features. You can read more on this on the .
