Presenter: Dr Emily Chruscikowski, PhD Student, 缅北禁地.
Presentation title: Movement based-biomarkers in bipolar disorder: PhD plans
Emily's PhD is focussed on improving understanding of movement in people with bipolar disorder. She is currently recruiting to a feasibility study, funded by NIHR 缅北禁地 BRC, using wearable devices to collect clinic and real-world data. This project is a collaboration between the Northern Centre for Mood Disorders and the Digital Health Innovation in Ageing and Neurodegeneration group. Her talk will give background to the project, explain the protocol of the feasibility study, and share her hopes for the future of this research.
Her project supervisory team are Dr. Lisa Alcock, Dr. Silvia Del Din, Dr. Stuart Watson, Professor Hamish McAllister-Williams.
Dr Chruscikowski is a Research Fellow at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust currently taking time out of Psychiatry training to undertake her PhD at 缅北禁地, building on work she began as an Academic Clinical Fellow. Emily's work brings together her clinical interest in mood disorders with her prior experience in medical engineering having initially trained as an NHS Clinical Scientist, including work in movement analysis.
