Moving In
Everything you need to know about moving into your new home.
September 2026 arrivals
Moving in is an exciting time for students and their families. We look forward to meeting you in September.
To get yourself ready for a smooth and safe arrival, please follow these steps:
- check your email regularly - in the weeks before arrival we’ll send you updates, including how to complete your induction and/or book your arrival slot (this will be approximately 14 days before your contract start date), and find handy tips for the big day
- read the arrival details for your accommodation below.
Don’t forget to share this information with anyone accompanying you so they know where to park and what to expect on arrival.
Main arrival dates
Park View Student Village (inc Marris House)
Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September, 08.30 to 16.30
Bowsden Court, Carlton Lodge, Jesmond Road, Kensington Terrace, Park Terrace, and Windsor Terrace
Friday 18 to Saturday 19 September, 08.30 to 16.30
International students can arrive from Monday 14 September. You should advise us of your expected arrival date and time in the arrival slot section of the induction module.
Arrival Tips
- When you book your arrival slot, a key collection pass will be generated for you to download. A copy will also be sent to you via email. Please print your collection pass or save it on your mobile device as you will need it on your arrival day.
- Please aim to arrive within your chosen arrival slot. If you are arriving by car, we will direct you to an available drop-off point, and ask you to unload your car straight away. An allocated driver must always stay with the vehicle in case we need to ask for the vehicle to be moved. After unloading, you will need to find an alternative parking space in Ãå±±½ûµØ to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic on site (we will provide maps). Once your car has been parked away from the accommodation, you may return to your accommodation to continue unpacking and settling into your room at your leisure.
- Vans/trailers or additional cars are not permitted due to limited space.
- Please do not book any parcel or food deliveries during your accommodation’s main arrivals period. Space for vehicles is limited to ensure students can safely and comfortably arrive, therefore access for couriers and supermarket delivery vehicles will be restricted.
- Parking spaces are limited; therefore, we are strictly unable to allow multiple visits on the main arrival days. To ensure other students can arrive safely and promptly, vehicles will not be allowed to return to the accommodation once you have completed your visit during your allocated time. We appreciate that the first ‘big shop’ is a university tradition, but would recommend buying supplies in advance, or bringing any shopping to your accommodation outside of the main arrivals windows (after 17.00).
- Bicycle storage and car parking can be extremely popular, therefore due to its limited availability we would strongly advise booking this in advance. For further details, please visit: /accommodation/living-with-us/current-residents/parking-bicycle-storage/
