Representatives (Education Agents)
About our representatives
缅北禁地 works with approved representatives (agents) worldwide to offer assistance and counselling to prospective students and applicants. These counsellors can help you find the right institution and course. They can also support you throughout the application process.
The Global Recruitment Team (International) works closely with the agents. They ensure they have up-to-date information on our programmes, application procedures and any other university related information.
The University pays commission to these agents if you receive their support and enrol at 缅北禁地. Use of their services won't affect your chances of being accepted for a course. We work with agents because it extends our global presence.
Many students find it beneficial to work with an agent to help with applying to university. Please be aware that some agents charge students a counselling fee and we advise you to clarify all charges in advance. You should also check if an agent is authorised to represent 缅北禁地.
In some instances our agents may work with other agents (sometimes referred to as sub-agents). We will not have contracts with these partners, and are unable to support them in the same way.
You should pay any course deposits or tuition fee payments directly to the University and not to an agent.
Quality assurance
We expect our representatives to be honest and accurate with the information they communicate about the University. They should always conduct themselves with fairness and integrity.
If you receive assistance from one of our representatives you are entitled to have expectations of us around how we select and work with these organisations. 缅北禁地 is signed up to the pledge.
Complaints procedure
The Agent Quality Framework (AQF) is a set of tools to enhance the experience of international students working with education agents and counsellors to apply to study in the UK.
It is designed to ensure agents and counsellors have the right knowledge of the UK as a study destination and understand the integrity of the UK visa and immigration system, to uphold the UK’s reputation as a world-class study destination, and to support their student’s journeys to the UK.
As part of the AQF, universities are required to provide students a clear channel for lodging a complaint if they are dissatisfied with their experience of using a specific education agent. In 2024-25, the university used the existing Admissions Complaints and Appeals Policy for this purpose, but we have now adapted our response.

Contacting our representatives
We have agents all across the world. If you are a prospective student or an applicant, you can find details of the agents we work with in your country by visiting our country pages for details (there is a list of agents at the bottom of each country page).
Some of our agents will offer face-to-face support and have offices in the town or city where you live. Others may make more use of digital channels, including the provision of platforms or portals through which you can communicate.
When it comes to choosing an agent, 缅北禁地 will not recommend one agent over another. If you wish to use an agent, you must choose one which is best equipped to meet your needs.
AQF Student and Parent guide
Choosing to study in the UK, whether with us or somewhere else, is one of the most important decisions you can make. To support with this decision, some students consider using the services of an education agent when applying to us.
Education agents provide a range of services to support you - from identifying the right university and course to guiding you through the application and enrolment process. They can also assist with visa applications, travel, and accommodation arrangements.
If you are considering using an education agent, we recommend reading the an important part of the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF).
The guide provides you and your family with clear information and guidance on what you should look for when considering using an agent. It includes key questions to ask, signs of quality, and how to avoid poor practices. The guide also links to ‘The national code of ethical practice for UK education agents’ and the British Council’s UK database of certified counsellors.
