Practicing the art of Problem Solving
The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics are offering 2-hour 'Problem Solving' sessions for Year 11 students who are aiming for a grade 9 (January) and enthusiastic Year 9 students (June/July).
The aim of these sessions is to enhance students’ ability to tackle problems and to analyse what makes a good solution. The sessions include a refreshment break where a drink and snack will be provided. Sessions are interactive and students will be required to work in groups of approximately 5-7 throughout the session. There will be opportunities for students to win small prizes for their group.
These sessions will run again in 2027 - more details to follow.
Teachers can register to bring groups of up to 30 students to the event. When registering you will be asked to state which dates you are able to attend in order of preference and we will do our best to ensure all schools get their first choice if possible (each session has space for up to 96 students).
