Urban Studies

Explore cities in the UK and across the world from a variety of perspectives.

About the programme

UCAS Code: BA Combined Honours (Y001)

Urban Studies offers a unique opportunity to take modules that focus on the built environment from across the disciplines of planning and architecture, and further informed by urban design and landscape. You’ll learn about the social forces shaping our society and spaces to address questions such as:

  • What makes a good city?
  • How can we plan for climate change?
  • What techniques can be used to understand and ‘read’ cities?
  • How do policy and politics shape urban planning processes?

Many modules use real world examples to develop practical understanding of cities often including short trips to projects in 缅北禁地 and other parts of the UK.
Urban Studies is offered by the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape.
