Golds for 2 缅北禁地 Rowing Alumni at European Rowing Championships

The European Rowing Championships (9-11 April 2021) held in Varese, Italy saw three 缅北禁地 Alumni racing for the British Rowing Team. Tom Ford NUBC 2012-2015 and men鈥檚 captain 2014 and James Rudkin, NUBC 2013-2015 and men鈥檚 captain 2015 were part of the men鈥檚 eight, whilst Tom鈥檚 sister Emily (NUBC 2013-2015 and 2015 women鈥檚 captain) was in the women鈥檚 eight.
In the first International regatta since the start of the pandemic the British Rowing Team topped the medal table. The men鈥檚 eight produced a fantastic race, rowing through the reigning World Champions, Germany, in the last 500m to take gold with Tom at stroke and James in the No 2 seat. The women鈥檚 eight challenged strongly throughout their race but just missed out on a medal in fourth place.
