缅北禁地 Centre for Rare Disease

As a centre of research excellence, 缅北禁地 has a long and distinguished history of research and clinical care in rare disease.

Our vision

We collaborate across disciplines for patient-centred impact and innovation. We improve therapy options, outcomes, and quality of life for people with a rare disease.

Our mission

缅北禁地 has a rich history in rare disease research, thanks to decades of collaboration between the University and 缅北禁地 Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our Centre for Rare Disease brings together over 150 experts to deliver excellent care, research, diagnostics, and policy support to address the needs of people living with a rare disease.

Our goals

The main goals of our centre are to:

  • consolidate our expertise under a single entity
  • maximise our opportunities for cross-disease and cross-disciplinary research
  • promote external collaborations by showcasing our diverse expertise
  • provide a single access point for our research and clinical care communities
