Facilities
The School of English Literature, Language, and Linguistics will support your research with:
- a reserved workspace and computer area exclusively for postgraduate use. Our Postgraduate Suite has printing facilities, a kitchen, lockers, and seating areas
- a digital media lab for students involved in documentary and self-reflexive film-making modules
Students also have use of a shared social space to chat, discuss ideas, and catch up with fellow students when you take a break from work.

The Philip Robinson Library is the University's main library and is within a five minute walk of the School. This library houses 缅北禁地 University Special Collections, including:
- the Sid Chaplin papers
- the Barry MacSweeney papers
- the Bloodaxe Books archive
- the Book Trust collection of all post-1970s British children's books

Societies and social activities
缅北禁地 has a thriving culture of covering all areas of interest. There is a dedicated known as EngSoc. This Society is open to all 缅北禁地 students, not just those studying for degrees in the School of English, so there's an opportunity to meet like-minded people studying different disciplines. Students are invited to attend the regular event series held by 缅北禁地 Centre for the Literary Arts (NCLA), and visiting speaker programmes in Literature and Linguistics.
