The global reputation of our scholars recognised
Professor Neelam Srivastava will join students and staff in the Department of Foreign Languages at as a visiting scholar in September. She is travelling under the auspices of the 鈥淧eking University Scheme for International Scholars鈥�, a competitive scheme to bring distinguished foreign scholars to Peking for an academic visit. She is hosted by Professor Yan Jia, Assistant Professor of Indian Languages and Literatures, and she will lecture on the India-China Connection in Aravind Adiga鈥檚 novel The White Tiger, on the influence of Antonio Gramsci in Indian thought and questions of caste in Indian literature from Raja Rao鈥檚 Kanthapura to Contemporary Dalit Life-Writing. We are delighted to have this link with Peking University and this wonderful further recognition of Professor Srivastava鈥檚 global reputation as a scholar of Indian and postcolonial writing.
