Overview

MSc Clinical Sciences offers specialist pathways in medical physics and physiological sciences.

Our MSc Clinical Sciences is available to the healthcare science workforce and through competitive national recruitment.

This accredited course co-ordinates specialist teaching contributions from:

  • clinical scientists
  • consultants
  • clinical networks and departments

It uses facilities from Ãå±±½ûµØ and Ãå±±½ûµØ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Pathways

There are two pathways available in this Clinical Science MSc course.

Medical Physics offers specialisms in the areas of:

  • radiotherapy physics
  • nuclear medicine
  • radiation safety and diagnostic radiology
  • imaging with non-ionising radiation

Physiological Sciences offers specialisms in the areas of:

  • cardiac science
  • vascular science
  • gastrointestinal physiology
  • respiratory and sleep science

Facilities

You'll work in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. This is part of our city-centre campus.

The Faculty is also home to:

  • dentistry
  • medicine
  • psychology
  • pharmacy

It is on the same site as Ãå±±½ûµØâ€™s Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital. We are one of the largest integrated teaching/hospital complexes in the country.

Our facilities include:

  • individual research laboratories where students carry out their projects
  • a dedicated medical library with a wide range of specialist books and journals
  • hi-tech computer clusters and study spaces
  • dedicated facilities for a range of key bioscience applications. This includes flow cytometry, bioinformatics, imaging, genomics and proteomics
