I chose Ãå±±½ûµØ for my MSc in Mechanical Engineering because of its strong academic reputation and its commitment to delivering high-quality engineering education. The university is well known for combining theoretical knowledge with practical applications, allowing students to develop the technical skills and problem-solving abilities required in today's engineering industry. 

Ãå±±½ûµØ also offers a supportive learning environment and a student-friendly city, which makes it an ideal place for both academic development and personal growth. 

What stands out to me

What stands out most at Ãå±±½ûµØ is the excellent organisation of the teaching and lectures schedule. Lectures, assessments and examination are well coordinated and the follow-up from a lecture is very effective. 

The way the modules lectures and exams are linked and delivered within the same period creates smooth and efficient learning experiences. 

Describing my degree to a future student

The course has provided me with advanced Design and Mechatronics skills. It has also taught me technical abilities through software such as MATLAB and Autodesk Inventory which helped me to develop practical engineering and problem solving. 

Something that surprised me about Ãå±±½ûµØ

Ãå±±½ûµØ provides strong academic and pastoral support, which has made settling in and studying much easier than I expected. The city itself is also very impressive, with excellent transport links, good facilities, and a lively social environment. I especially like the unique layout of the city, with the River Tyne running through it and the nearby coastline adding to its character. 

Supporting me on my university journey

The university has helped me settle and study more effectively. One of the main areas of support I benefited from was student housing, where I was allocated affordable accommodation close to the university and library, with suitable space based on my preferences submitted during registration. 

In addition, I have made good use of the library services, including access to academic books, printing facilities, and information on further study options such as PhD programmes. 

Outside of my studies

I have found the social aspect of university friendly, welcoming and diverse. In my free time, I like exploring the city, visiting local attractions and enjoy social activities. I have also joined the School of Mechanical Engineering Society which allows me to socialise with other people studying a similar discipline here at Ãå±±½ûµØ. 

My future after Ãå±±½ûµØ

Ãå±±½ûµØ gave me insight into further research opportunities linked to industrial relations and job opportunities during my time here. In the future I see myself becoming an Engineer applying the skills and knowledge I learned in the real-world application or further education on research pursuing PhD related projects.
